TODAY'S FLIGHT PLAN
FOR THE SOUTHWEST |
|
Turn left at Phoenix till you come
to the fork in the road, make a hard right (as the crow flies). Go about 400 miles give or
take a hundred miles until you see the windmill. Over the next hill theres an old
farm house, pass it till you come to a grove of elm trees. . .head right for about 40
acres past an open field and youll spot a dirt road. Good place to get out of the
vehicle and relieve yourself behind the Oak tree. Head east for about 40 miles and
youll find you are there. Dont forget to send a postcard.

TWO POEMS FROM
"IN SOMEONE'S SHADOW"

A Message
from the Front
I dont think we can hold
the chemistry lab much longer
were running out of Dixie cups
and Baby Ruths.
Wed better call up Colonel Sanders
for reinforcements.
How do you spell Minnie Pearl ?
We cant get channel four..
What the fuck do they expect from us,
Ralph Williams sells the same cars
every hour.
Tomorrow when we give the dean
his bloody nose
our reputations for this year
will finally be secure.
But tonight, because of our commitments,
we missed Beach Blanket Bingo
on the Late Show.
War is hell.
A Word from the Sponsor
How tall we are.
Weve learned so much.
Everything, it seems,
but how to stay in touch.
