A Thought for Today
When it comes to sex women seem to need
an occasion, men only some piece of real estate for performing it.

TO BEGIN WITH
Yep, the Thought for the Day and the Random Thoughts are my own but it
doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy collecting quote from others. Here are some
recent examples.
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING
Jay Leno regarding a newscaster’s vow to refrain from mentioning Sarah
Palin’s name for the entire month of February: “Couldn’t he have chosen
a month with 31 days?”
-O-
In an interview about his legendary Sundance Festival Robert Redford
tells UPI, “The first years nobody came. I was literally standing in the
street hawking it like a circus barker.”
-O-
Ernest Borgnine on hearing that in her autobiography Ethel Mermen
devoted a blank page to their 32 day marriage; “Thank God!” As quoted in
The Hollywood Reporter.
-O-
Ace NYT’s columnist Bob Herbert: “The folks who want to raise the
retirement age and hack away at benefits for ordinary working Americans
are inevitably those who have not the least worry about their own
retirement. The haves so often get a perverse kick out of bullying the
have-nots.” Yeah like Rich Republicans voting to a man – and woman to
repeal what they call Obama Care. Yes, it would be a shame if the rest
of us got anything approaching the kind of benefits Congress gets and
takes for granted.
-O-
James Franco, Best Actor nominee (for “127 Hours”) and co-host of this
years’ awards show tells The Hollywood Reporter, “I have to admit I
almost faint every time I give blood. –– And the sight of blood makes me
really queasy.”
-O-
“There’s been a report that my right nipple was showing at The Golden
Globes. That wasn’t no tit, that was my recent cancer scar. So there. “
Jane Fonda in a recent Tweet.
-O-
Gayle King, asked by Oprah if she would ever consider doing a reality
show: “Never! That’s N-E-V-A-H, Never.”
-O-
From President Obama’s State of the Union speech: “We cannot win the
future with a government of the past.”
-O-
Another Best Actor Oscar nominee for “Biutiful” (and yes, Spell Check,
that’s the correct spelling) Javier Bardem tells Parade Magazine: “I
don’t know if I’ll get to Heaven, I’ve been a bad boy. Heaven must be
nice but is it boring? Maybe you can get an apartment there and then go
to Hell for the weekends.” Do I believe in Heaven and Hell? You bet.
I’ve been to both and prefer the former to the latter.
-O-
Speaking of the awards “True Grit” is up against “The King’s Speech,”
which if you think about it is “True Brit.”
-O-
And the final quote for this week comes from Keith Olbermann on his
surprise last program for MSNBC: “Good Night and Good Luck.” Back at you
Keith, you’ll be much missed.
