NEVER TOLD YOU |

In 1873 P. T. Barnum opens his
Hippodrome in Manhattan.
Having earlier proclaimed "I shall return", Gen. Douglas MacArthur came back to
the Philippines on this day in 1944 and in 1953 singer Julius La Rosa begins picking up
unemployment checks. The featured singer on The Arthur Godfrey Show was fired because
Arthur didnt think him "humble" enough.. In 1955 its bye-bye to the
Edsel.
Today, in 1965 The Civil Rights Act of 64 was passed. Ronald Reagan states "I
favor The Civil Rights Act and it must be enforced at gun point if necessary." Three
years later he states "I would have voted against The Civil Rights Act of 64."
Er, a guys allowed to change his mind isnt he?
In 1978 Jackie marries Ari but not without a prenuptial agreement providing for separate
bedrooms and no children (does everyone get their facts from The National Enquirer?) Hope
there are no pre-nups on your day today. I plan to rest up for tomorrow, then take it easy
on Wednesday for a fresh start at kicking back on Thursday. Theres a new moon
tonight, get out & get under it.

Love words roll off
from the tongue like ill advice. Be careful.

What we want we cannot have. What we have we long ago stopped
wanting.

Not every wound the wounded carry leaves a visible scar.

I defy a headache or a stomach grumble to order me away from
hope. |

MEETING |
|
I admit that I am shy.
More so with those faces
and those forms
that I start to love
with but one look only.
Back in the room
we had no liquor
and no
radio
no aphrodisiac but need.
Oh, I needed you. I did, I do.
your bushy head
and your round eyes,
your thighs
to wrap myself around,
your intermittent smile
and stare.
Your caring for me
then and now.
I pushed a pillow
soft beneath your head
and murmured love
from the beginning.
I knew. Dont ask me how.
That we were starting
what could not be finished
in our lifetimes.
Here we are
and those tomorrows
left or owed to me,
borrowed and as yet
unbought for you
will not be enough.
We should move
toward the heavens
or at least above the earth
somewhere
for always.
Though I know
need is not enough
perhaps this time
simple wanting
will transcend all this
and everything.
