A Thought for Today

The heart has its reasons.

This One Does It For Me!

Dear Ken,

I really can't believe how many years have passed by since I purchased my first copy of the LP that started it all; "The Sea" in 1967. I keep wondering how all those years managed to slip by without my noticing. :)

I've ordered the five newly released "San Sebastian Strings" CDs and now I'll be waiting, rather impatiently I'm sure, until they arrive. I do have all the LPs, but I'm looking forward to the pleasure and convenience of playing mint copies of those old favorites, especially (at this time of year) those wonderful tracks on "Summer" and "For Lovers".

I think it's fantastic that these splendid albums by Rod and Anita Kerr are being reborn in another time, and in CD format. I'm sure they're going to be appreciated and loved by old fans of the LPs, and will also begin to be discovered by a new and younger audience. What a wonderful experience it's going to be for that new audience to listen to these San Sebastian Strings albums for the first time. The LPs have been old friends of mine for years and I know the CDs are going to make many new friends.

If you use this, you might want to consider posting the poem from the album cover of "For Lovers".

Thought hugs,

Larry

Always good to hear from you, Larry, though it's not often enough.

And I couldn't agree with you more! The release of the SSS albums on CD will surely attract a host of new fans. On a personal note there are a number of albums in the series that I've never heard so you can count me as a "new" fan. I can't wait!

I'm sure there will be a rush of orders so I would urge all those interested in getting their hands on copies to place their orders right now. Simply click on the link below:

Looking backward helps us to go forward with a sense of purpose.

Only men of little importance keep other men waiting.

I'LL CARRY HOME AN ORCHARD

If you like apples
then I’ll carry home an orchard
if sky is to your liking
I’ll bundle up the skies of summer
so you’ll never need to know
the winter evening anymore.

I like the fire
and so I wait for winter nights
apples I can take or leave.

Your body
like your mind
has need of going over
and I intend to be a journeyman
of your soft skin
for years to come.
