A Thought for Today
Go easy. Take no one unaware. Give each
new friend, potential enemy and lover, time. Never consciously return
home with more than you have given.

Dear Ken,
Last
night I was watching Christmas in New England video. That in itself is a
Christmas present. At the end Rod sings Going Home and afterwards he looks
into the camera and says the following:
Someone said that home is a state of mind or merely a house.
Maybe, but I don't think so.
I think home is a safe place
where memories are rekindled, kept alive like a winter fire; the flame of
that fire always seems to sustain, take care of us when we're away from
the safety of places we know and people we know and favorite beds.
Christmas is everything about
the holiday that says home.
I know that Christmas isn't
always a happy time for everyone, but I want you to know that whoever you
are, wherever you are, somebody, somewhere this Christmas, this bright,
holiday season is thinking of you.
Hearing Rod sing Going Home and watching him talk
about home being a safe place gave me a warm, happy feeling.

Thanks for this contribution,
Janice. I can't think of finer sentiments to express at this time of year
and Rod has, of course, done it in his own inimitable way.
I'll be back next week to wrap
up 2001. (I really can't believe I've just said that. Where has this year
gone?)
All that remains is for me to
wish you all a merry, musical Christmas. May it be filled with lots of
good things but above all peace, love and understanding.
