A Thought for Today
Some of us are working lifetimes to erase a work set down in haste that should have never seen the page.

Just in case anyone thought
Rod had disappeared into the wilds of Wyoming with nary a thought for
what's happening back on the ASPTL server, forget it! That's just not the
McKuen way.
Prior to leaving for what he
laughingly calls his summer vacation (he'll be working) he personally
selected every Flight Plan we'll be re-running while he's away. That
includes stuff from my regular Wednesday column, the first of which
appears today.
Thanks, Rod!

THIS ONE DOES IT FOR ME / 20 February, 2000
The past few evenings have been spent copying some of my all time favorite song tracks from CD onto my computer's hard drive.
This seemingly simple exercise is not for the fainthearted, particularly if you have limited disc space. Suffice to say that while I now have a glorious collection of music literally at my fingertips, I won't be installing any new software in the foreseeable future. Come to think of it, I won't be doing much of anything short of listening to great music and coding a few Flight Plans.
One of the tracks now happily residing on my drive is Sinatra's version of "Love's Been Good to Me". When Frank passed away one of our local radio stations aired a three hour tribute to him and I spent the entire show waiting for "Rod's Big Moment". They closed the tribute with it, which was kind of fitting.
I'd be hard pressed to select my most favorite McKuen song but if pushed, this would rank right up there with a number of others.
It occurred to me that this is one of the few really popular McKuen songs which we haven't featured on ASPTL before. Time to rectify that here and now and I'll bet you whistle or hum this one for the rest of the day.

A REMINDER TO OUR FRIENDS IN
EUROPE
Friday July 20 Frank Sinatra Jr & The Woody Herman
Orchestra will be in Molde, Norway for a 6:PM concert at Idrettens Hus.
RIVERTON
COUNTDOWN
Don’t forget Rod’s big concert for the summer in Riverton, Wyoming this Saturday night July 21st.
Linda Becker will be making her office computers available to those who'd like to submit a report back on the show to Ken, so keep an eye out for her and make your arrangements well in advance. Linda,
one of the organizers of the event, will be the one looking slightly frazzled
but still smiling!
To whet the appetite of the
Riverton concert goers here's a pic from the Aurora concert sent in by
Simran. Don't you just love the expectant look on all those faces?
